Treatment
The treatment utilises micro-channelling technology to infuse a potent blend of vitamins and antioxidants — the vital nutrients necessary to achieve a luminous, intensely hydrated, and flawlessly even complexion.
BabyGLOW treatments are highly versatile and can be used to improve:
Skin dullness and fatigue
Dehydration and dryness
Uneven tone and redness
Refined texture and minor pores
Overall radiance and skin health
A consultation/test patch is required before proceeding with this treatment.
1. How many BabyGLOW sessions will I need?
While you will notice an “initial glow” once the 5–7 day recovery period subsides, we typically recommend a course of 3 to 4 sessions, spaced approximately 4 weeks apart. This allows the cumulative effects of collagen stimulation and serum infusion to build, resulting in a more dramatic and long-lasting transformation of your skin’s texture and tone.
2. Does the treatment hurt?
Most clients describe the sensation as a mild prickling or a localized feeling of warmth. Because BabyGLOW uses advanced fractional technology, it is much more comfortable than traditional resurfacing lasers. We can also apply a topical numbing cream prior to the procedure to ensure the experience is as relaxing as possible.
3. When will I see the final results?
You will see a visible improvement in hydration and radiance as soon as the initial redness and “grid marks” fade (usually within 7 days). However, the “magic” happens over the following 3–6 weeks, as your body produces new collagen and elastin in response to the treatment. Your skin will continue to look firmer and more refined during this period.
4. How long do the effects of BabyGLOW last?
The longevity of your results depends on your skin type and lifestyle (such as sun exposure and your home skincare routine). Generally, the revitalised “glass skin” effect lasts for 4 to 6 months. To maintain your results indefinitely, many clients choose to have a single “top-up” session every few months.
5. How is BabyGLOW different from a standard facial?
A standard facial primarily treats the surface (epidermis) and provides temporary results. BabyGLOW uses fractional technology to create micro-channels that bypass the skin’s barrier, allowing medical-grade nutrients to reach the deeper dermis. By triggering a natural healing response, it actually remodels the skin from within rather than just polishing the surface.
To ensure your skin is in the optimal condition for the BabyGLOW infusion and to minimise the risk of sensitivity, please follow these guidelines:
2 Weeks Before
Sun Exposure: Avoid direct sun exposure, sunbeds, and intense UV travel. Skin must not be sunburnt or peeling at the time of treatment.
Tanning: Discontinue the use of fake tan or tanning drops on the treatment area to ensure the micro-channelling remains precise.
Other Procedures: Avoid other advanced skin treatments in the same area, such as chemical peels, microneedling, or injectable treatments (fillers/anti-wrinkle injections).
5 Days Before
Active Skincare: Discontinue use of Retinol, Retinoids, or prescription-strength Vitamin A.
Exfoliants: Stop using AHA/BHA exfoliating acids (e.g. Glycolic or Salicylic acid) and physical facial scrubs.
Vitamin C: Avoid high-potency or “active” Vitamin C serums.
3–5 Days Before
Blood Thinners: Avoid aspirin or ibuprofen (unless medically prescribed) and supplements like fish oil or high-dose Vitamin E, as these can increase the risk of minor pinpoint bruising during the infusion.
24 Hours Before
Lifestyle: Refrain from consuming alcohol to ensure your skin is well-hydrated and to reduce the risk of inflammation.
Please inform your practitioner prior to your appointment if any of the following apply:
You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding.
You have a history of cold sores (we may recommend a prophylactic antiviral).
You have active acne, infections, or open lesions in the treatment area.
You have used Isotretinoin (Roaccutane) within the last 6–12 months.
You have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring.
You are taking any photosensitising medications.
Note: A consultation and test patch are required before your first BabyGLOW session to ensure the serum blend is perfectly suited to your skin.
It’s important you continue to show your skin some love following your treatment at Grand Aesthetics to get the best results. You’ll be prescribed a bespoke course of treatments and home care products to take with you, all of which will be explained in detail. Make sure you’re following the recommended routine between each of your appointments at our clinic to enhance the effects of your aesthetic treatments.
The BabyGLOW treatment initiates a deep renewal process. Because it uses fractional laser technology to create micro-channels, the following are normal and expected:
Downtime: A recovery period of 5–7 days is standard.
Initial Sensation: Redness, warmth, and mild swelling immediately after treatment (similar to a sunburn).
The “Grid” Effect: You may see tiny, pixel-like marks or a “grid” pattern on the skin. This is the hallmark of the fractional process and a sign that the skin is beginning to regenerate.
Fading: Both the redness and the grid marks will gradually fade as your fresh, glowing skin surfaces.
Texture: Mild flaking or a “sandpaper” texture may occur between days 3 and 7.
Keep it Pure: Apply only the recommended soothing cream or healing balm provided by your practitioner.
Cleanliness: Ensure the treated area remains clean. Wash your hands before touching your face.
Stay Cool: Use cool compresses if you feel significant heat or discomfort. Avoid hot showers, steam rooms, or excessive heat.
Hands Off: Do not rub, pick, or scratch the skin, as this can lead to scarring or pigmentation issues.
Exercise: Avoid intense exercise or heavy sweating for 48–72 hours to prevent irritation.
Swimming & Heat: Steer clear of swimming pools, hot tubs, and saunas for 1–2 weeks.
Active Skincare: Do not use Retinol, exfoliating acids (AHA/BHA), Vitamin C, or “active” anti-ageing products for 7–10 days.
As your skin renews itself, you will notice the old cells “shedding.”
Do Not Peel: Allow any flaking or “sandpaper” texture to shed naturally. Manually peeling the skin can damage the fresh layer underneath.
Hydrate: Continue applying a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser or the advised recovery balm to keep the skin supple.
Gentle Cleansing: Use a mild, non-exfoliating cleanser during this week.
Your skin is highly sensitive to UV light following a BabyGLOW session.
Avoid the Sun: Stay out of direct sunlight and avoid sunbeds for at least 4 weeks.
SPF is Non-Negotiable: Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50 daily, even on cloudy days, once the skin has closed (usually 24 hours post-treatment).
Top Tip: The “BabyGLOW” results are best seen once the skin has fully healed and the new collagen has begun to settle. Patience during the 5–7 day recovery window is key to your final radiance!
