Profhilo Vs Nucleofill – Which Is Best For Your Future Skin?

When it comes to injectable skin care treatments, there are a lot of options on the market, and these options have become increasingly sophisticated, advanced and effective at keeping skin elastic, young-looking and vibrant for a long time.

Two of these treatments in particular represent very different schools of thought when it comes to the future of injectable skin treatment.

The first is the ultimate refinement of the leading treatment on the market, one that takes its base ingredients and core concept and takes it to its logical limit to create a most substantial and longer-term effect.

By contrast, the other is a state-of-the-art skin rejuvenation treatment that eschews the established conventions in favour of an entirely new approach that uses polynucleotides to hydrate the skin and boost collagen development.

Both Profhilo and Nucleofill aim to achieve the same goal, but how they both go about it is completely different.

Evolution Vs Revolution

For the longest time, the primary injectable treatment to give people a brighter, tighter and more elastic appearance to the skin is through the use of hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers.

This ingredient is naturally produced in the body, particularly in the eyes, joints and the skin, which helps to retain water, keep skin pliant and flexible, as well as keeping joints moving without grinding against each other.

It is a particularly potent ingredient, and an ultra-refined version of it is at the centre of Profhilo as well, albeit not in the way it is typically used.

Unlike most dermal fillers, which are used in such a way to make their effects relatively temporary, an ultra-pure hyaluronic acid is used in Profhilo treatment deep within the skin layers to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin as well as attract water to the deeper parts of the skin.

It is much more stable than conventional hyaluronic acid, and because of this, the stimulation of cells producing elastin and collagen lasts significantly longer, leading to a more substantial result and a tightening and lifting effect on skin tissue that is not always to be expected.

By contrast, Nucleofill does not use hyaluronic acid at all as its hydrating agent, instead using a relatively new type of ingredient known as a polynucleotide, typically derived from the DNA from salmon.

A polynucleotide is not intended to simply boost hydration, but instead works as a wound-healing agent for DNA, allowing for intense and dramatic repairs to the skin.

It is primarily used to reduce the effects of scar tissue and pronounced skin texturing, but its effects in encouraging cell renewal, boosting hydration and collagen production can also help to lift skin, tighten it and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Both treatments have a much grander aim than dermal fillers; rather than artificially and temporarily plumping up skin, both Nucleofill and Profhilo aim to rejuvenate skin from the inside out, providing long-lasting results and a foundation for even greater skincare.

Both are also non-invasive treatments, typically consisting of a short series of targeted injections in sessions that take less than half an hour to complete.
