Shaving is just another of life’s many chores that a lot of us just don’t have the time for. By booking an appointment at our laser hair removal clinic, you can get ready for your big plans with one less thing on your to-do list.
As the lasers used in this type of hair removal are extremely powerful, you’ll want to book an appointment with someone you trust. We have over 20 years experience in laser treatments so you can be rest assured that you’re in safe hands. All members of staff have an NVQ Level 4 in laser hair removal and laser light treatments and we are proud to be an approved supplier to the NHS for laser referrals.
Before we can start your laser hair removal treatment we require you to have a consultation and patch test. This will take less than 30 minutes; it’s just to give us a better idea of your hair and skin type along with the results you’re looking for.
You’ll have plenty of time to ask your practitioner any questions you might have regarding the treatment and they’ll be more than happy to advise the best course of treatment to achieve the results you want. Once you’re comfortable with proceeding, we’ll get you booked in for your laser hair removal appointment at a time that works for you. Please note that we do require you come into the clinic and perform a patch test 48 hours before, to ensure you don’t experience any adverse reactions on the day

How does Laser Hair Removal work?
Our fully trained and qualified laser specialists use light energy to permanently damage individual hair follicles. This damage prevents future hair growth, and any hair that does happen to grow back will be finer, lighter, and softer.
Offering a permanent reduction of up to 90%, laser hair removal is suitable for every body and skin tone as our lasers can be adjusted to work with your body in mind. It can even target the hard to reach areas, leaving you with incredibly even and smooth skin.
As the hair follicle must be in the correct stage of the growth cycle for it to be targeted effectively, you’ll need several treatments to see long-lasting results. This gives us an excellent chance of preventing the hair from returning as the individual hairs could be in different parts of the growth cycle at any one time.
The benefits of Laser Hair Removal
Shaving and waxing often come along with irritations we really don’t need. With laser hair removal, you’ll avoid ingrown hairs, razor rash, and stubble for a lifetime, benefitting from soft, smooth, silky skin instead. These long-lasting results save you the cost and pain of having to shave regularly; once you’ve attended all your laser hair removal appointments with us, you’ll never have to worry about hair growth again.
How many sessions will I need?
We Usually recommend 6-8 treatments but some patients may been 10-12.
How long does Laser Hair Removal last?
Some people see permanent results, while some people may need a touch-up treatment every six to twelve months. Results vary depending on your hair type and skin type. Proper preparation and aftercare can also affect how long the results last.
Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?
For most people, laser hair removal does not hurt. However, it all depends on your threshold for pain. Each pulse lasts less than a second, producing a slight tingling feeling. On thicker hair, people say that it feels like snapping a rubber band against the skin. We use an advanced cooling machine in conjunction with our laser device to reduce the heat sensation on the skin and minimise any discomfort.
How to prepare for Laser Hair Removal?
To prepare for laser hair removal, avoid plucking, waxing, and tanning for four weeks prior to your first treatment. In the days before treatment, avoid taking medications such as blood thinners. Take a shower and shave right before your treatment.
Is there any side effects?
Some people experience temporary redness, itching, and swelling of the skin right after treatment. These side effects usually go away within a few hours, and most can be soothed by applying aloe vera to the treated area. It is important to follow the correct prep and aftercare to receive maximum results with minimal side effects to the treatment.
What type of hair can be treated?
Unfortunately, we can not treat blonde, grey/white and some types of red hair with our Laser Hair Removal treatment. The light of the laser is only attracted to the melanin (pigment) of the hair hence these hair colours cannot be treated.
It’s important you continue to show your skin some love following your treatment at Grand Aesthetics to get the best results. You’ll be prescribed a bespoke course of treatments and home care products to take with you, all of which will be explained in detail. Make sure you’re following the recommended routine between each of your appointments at our clinic to enhance the effects of your aesthetic treatments.
After the procedure, the skin will be red and flushed in a similar way to moderate sunburn. You may also experience tightness, tingling and mild sensitivity to touch on the area being treated. These effects will diminish greatly a few hours following treatment and after 3 days most visible erythema will be absolved.
