Dermal Fillers

Injectable filler is a soft tissue filler injected into the skin at different depths to help fill in facial wrinkles, provide facial volume, and augment facial features: restoring a smoother appearance.

Dermal Fillers

All dermal filler and anti wrinkle injections are carried out by our medically trained aesthetic doctors or nurses. So you can be safe in the knowledge that you are in the best possible hands when choosing to have your dermal filler treatments with us at Grand Aesthetics.

What areas can we treat with Dermal Fillers?

Face

  • Lip Fillers – Lip fillers can add volume for a fuller lip or replace any that has been lost over time for a more youthful look
  • Nasolabial fillers – The line that runs from each side of the nose to the corner of the mouth is called a nasolabial fold
  • Marionette Lines – Marionette lines are the shadows that start from the corner of the mouth and run down towards the jawline, either side of the chin.
  • Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty – Non-surgical rhinoplasty also know as the 15-minute nose job is an excellent procedure for anyone wanting to improve the shape of their nose without the trauma, expense and downtime of surgery
  • Tear Trough Filler – The tear trough is the area between your lower eyelid and cheek, and as we age, we can experience volume loss in this area.
  • Cheek Fillers – Cheek enhancement using dermal fillers is a highly effective treatment not only to enhance the cheekbones for a more contoured look
  • Chin and Jaw Filler – Jawline and chin filler treatments can enhance the overall appearance of the jaw and chin area. Dermal Fillers are an excellent way to shape and adjust a more satisfactory profile.

Body

  • Hands – Hands Dermal Filler & Our hands often show the first signs of ageing.
Neck rejuvenation – Treatments are a combination of Profhilo, dermal fillers, and Botox®. These are minimally invasive injectables.

Packages

  • Beautification – Certain facial characteristics are deemed to be more feminine, such as fuller cheeks and lips, a narrower chin and a more delicate jawline. Dermal filler can be injected into these areas to give the face an overall softer appearance whilst maintaining facial proportions.
  • Masculinisation – The male face tends to be more chiselled in appearance. Features such as a wider jawline and squarer chin are more appealing male ideologies. Dermal fillers can be injected into these areas to enhance and sculpt these areas creating an overall squarer face shape.
  • Structural Rejuvenation – Over time the face loses volume due to the diminishing of fat stores. This loss of fat means the skin can droop and sag without the structure to support it. Dermal filler can be injected into these areas to restore the lost volume and therefore provide a rejuvenating and restorative look to the face.
  • Profile Harmonisation – It is seen as more desirable to have a well-balanced profile when viewing the face from the side on. Dermal filler can be injected into a combination of the nose, chin, and lips to enhance and balance the relationship of these 3 facial features, creating a straight line between them.

How do dermal fillers work?

Throughout the ageing process we lose some of the skin’s ‘building blocks’ such as collagen and fat, which are the materials that prevent skin becoming loose, allowing fine lines and wrinkles to appear. As we age, our skin becomes thinner and more visible lines and wrinkles start to appear. The facial bones and fat pads begin to shrink accelerating the creation of folds and deep wrinkles. The dermal filler acts as a replacement for the lost fat and helps to restore our skin to its former youthful appearance. The product is carefully injected into different layers of the skin depending on the type of filler selected and the patient’s needs. Dermal fillers are available in different thicknesses and viscosity that match to the patients’ needs. The thicker products are generally reserved for deep folds or wrinkles, whilst smoother product is used to plump out fine lines and wrinkles.

What are the Benefits of Dermal Filler?

  • Non-invasive procedure with no downtime
  • Non-permanent – they will break down naturally over time, only performed by expert medical staff
  • Can be combined with other rejuvenation treatments
  • Youthful appearance to combat the signs of ageing
  • Fill in moderate to fine lines around the eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Bespoke treatments to suit your needs

How painful are the dermal filler injections?

As a local topical anaesthetic cream is applied 20 -30 minutes before treatment, most patients find the injections tolerable with slight initial discomfort.

Who will carry out my Dermal Filler treatments?

Your treatment will be carried out by one of our trained medical professionals, either a Nurse or a Dr.

How long does the dermal fillers last?

Typically, most fillers last around six to nine months, with the exact time depending on the area applied and the individual patient, as some patients’ bodies break down the fillers faster than others.

What does the dermal filler procedure involve?

The first step in the process is to arrange a consultation with a practitioner. At your consultation the practitioner will take details of patient medical history, current medication and complete a care plan, having discussed the patient’s requirements and expectations. The practitioner will then be in a position to advise treatment options and make individual treatment recommendations. Treatments generally take between 30 – 45 minutes. A topical anaesthetic cream will be applied prior to appointment to maximise patient comfort during the procedure. After having the injection, the practitioner will give patients aftercare advice and information.

Are there any side-effects?

Occasional side-effects would include temporary redness, tenderness during injections, and swelling and bruising at the injection sites. However, these would normally be expected to settle within a matter of hours.

  • To lessen the likelihood of bleeding or bruising, discontinue use of blood thinning products for 10 days prior to treatment, if approved by your primary care provider. This includes: aspirin, ibuprofen (Motrin or Advil), naproxen, Aleve, fish oil, St. John’s Wort, flax, Vitamin E, Vitamin D, garlic, Ginkgo Biloba, ginseng, etc.
  • Alcohol is also to be avoided 24 hours pre- or post injectable treatment, as it is also a blood thinner.
  • You can consider taking Arnica Montana natural supplement to help bruising (take 5 tablets three times per day starting one week prior to treatment)
  • Please notify your provider if you have any history of cold sores.

It’s important you continue to show your skin some love following your treatment at Grand Aesthetics to get the best results. You’ll be prescribed a bespoke course of treatments and home care products to take with you, all of which will be explained in detail. Make sure you’re following the recommended routine between each of your appointments at our clinic to enhance the effects of your aesthetic treatments.
