What Is Plasma Fibroblast?

It’s all in the name. Plasma Fibroblast treatment targets, you guessed it, fibroblasts. These are the cells that produce collagen and protein in the layer of skin underneath the outer layer, which is known as the dermis. Fibroblasts are our best friends as they play a huge part in helping wounds heal and maintaining the firmness of our skin.

What Does Plasma Fibroblast Do?

Using a device that looks a lot like a pen, Plasma Fibroblast therapy releases an electric current to targeted areas of the skin. The thermal current from this process creates small holes in the skin’s layer, breaking down proteins in the skin, encouraging tissue regeneration, stimulating fibroblast activity, and causing tissue tightening.

What Is Plasma Fibroblast Used For?

Plasma Fibroblast Therapy is a non-surgical treatment that we typically use to treat:

  • Acne scars
  • Age spots
  • Wrinkles
  • To tighten the skin
  • Sun spots

What Can I Expect On The Day?

Plasma Fibroblast treatment usually takes around 30 to 60 minutes. Once you’re sat and comfortable, we’ll apply a topical numbing cream before treating your skin with the plasma pen. It’s normal to feel a tingling sensation during this procedure, but do let our aesthetician know if this ever becomes too uncomfortable. Once we’re happy the area has been treated effectively, we’ll apply a cooling mask and talk you through the recovery process.

As your skin heals over the next couple of weeks following your appointment, it should appear tighter, firmer, and more youthful.
