Pore Reduction Treatment Info & FAQs
What Are Open Pores?
Open pores can be found on your face, chest, back, or upper arms. Each pore holds a hair follicle and it’s where sebum, the oil your skin naturally produces, is made by sebaceous glands. Remember though, it’s perfectly normal for your pores to be open at all times. They keep the skin healthy by allowing the oil and hair follicle to surface, regardless of whether you have dry or oily skin. Open pores only become a problem when they’re causing an increase in oil or spots, which is where we can help.
How Can I Treat My Open Pores?
Though open pores don’t disappear overnight, there is a lot we can do to help make them appear smaller or less visible:
- Chemical Peels – Our professional strength chemical peels are great for patients with enlarged pores. This type of treatment deep cleans the pores by loosening and exfoliating the upper layer of skin, leaving your pores more refined and your skin brighter and smoother.
- DermaPen (microneedling) – The DermaPen treatment is a minimally invasive procedure that encourages your skin to make more collagen. It’s a type of collagen induction therapy where tiny pinpricks are made under the skin with a special pen-like tool, allowing the skin to respond by making new collagen-rich tissue. Collagen helps to create the appearance of smaller pores and smoother skin.
- At-home Skincare – We have plenty of creams, masks, and lotions available that help minimise pores. During your appointment, we’ll sit and create a bespoke skincare regime with you. This handy pack will include the best products for your skin type and our friendly aesthetician will explain how each one works to keep your problem pores at bay.
